City Barbeque

The brisket has great bark on it and is always tender. They have a great variety of sauces so you'll have Asoka find one you love. Their pulled pork is juicy and flavorful. I prefer their vinegar based sauce on their pull pork. Their ribs have a good bbq flavor in every bite.

I came here again after I was doing some work in Lexington for my employer, with a coworker and I decided to get the Pastrami Fries. It was not bad. I really did not taste much with them. I decided to get the baked beans and I liked how they threw meat into them. I ended up having water for my drink.

I later found out that they charged me for my water by comboing everything. -_-

I have stopped at this location a few times because this is the last vestige for food before getting on 75.

I purchased a sandwich to go on one occasion and just yesterday ate inside. I ordered a half rack of ribs for a stunningly high price. All sides are ala carte so nothing is included. I ordered the potato salad. The ribs came with an unappetizing piece of bread that somehow tasted sweet. I was pretty disappointed in the ribs. They were extremely dry and the 5 small ribs did not live up to the price tag. The potato salad was also sweet lacking the southern tang that is essential, IMO.

The pulled pork sandwich came with a generous portion of meat. I could only eat half of the sandwich mostly because it was super rich in flavor.

The biggest concern for me was the presence of fruit flies in the dinning room. Fruit flies indicate rot in the vicinity and that is something no restaurant should have.

I didn't care for the line ordering. If I am spending $25 on lunch, a wait staff would be appreciated. The other staff members stand around looking gloomy and no one smiles or speaks. I will say that the order takers have been nice and friendly.

The interior is very casual & kid friendly. Lots of dessert choices but I don't do dessert.

Overall, I feel like this restaurant is overpriced for what you get, plus being all self service. I see lots of "workers" there and it rings true that this is the kind of place that laborers who make a very good living and don't mind going in to a restaurant in their dirty duds would feel very comfortable in this restaurant.

Location and atmosphere of the establishment is great. Food itself is great, but GOD is it expensive for what you get. Expect to pay Malones prices for self-serve barbecue, which is wild. Like, VERY expensive for the amount of food you order. The plates are not big, and you ordered separately. Even the sides and desserts are expensive, kind of crazy. Reminder, the food is good, and we like coming back, but just prepare your wallet. Service is honestly cold/rude, but food comes fast so the interaction with them is THANKFULLY limited. Their pulled pork and brisket are very solid. Ribs are awful, and pulled chicken is kind of bland. The sweet tea is great, and the sauce selection isnt bad at all. Giving it the stars for the brisket and atmosphere alone. The staff and pricing is beyond horrendous.

Excellent food, my favorite BBQ place in the state. The service is great and I always take advantage of the curbside pickup.

BBQ was good and portions were huge. Great sauces. The ribs were huge. Typically won't order the brisket...but I did. Thought it was a touch dry but everything else was great!

We have really enjoyed City Barbeque, even having the restaurant cater a wedding - no one was disappointed. The service at the restaurant is always fast and the service is gracious.

City Barbeque has delicious and flavorful bbq and sides. Excellent customer service each time I have been here. Well worth a visit for good BBQ in a relaxed atmosphere.

It's a BBQ joint, so it's very casual!! They have a variety of smoked meats and sides. I got the smoked Turkey with corn pudding and Mac n cheese. The turkey was to die for! The Mac no cheese was creamy and good. I didn't particularly care for the corn pudding as it was a little bready. I prefer a corn pudding made with a custard base. It was a bit pricey at $16 with drink. I would definitely like to go back and have the brisket !

Always a great meal!
I always know what I am going to order without looking at the menu. I highly recommend the More Cowbell -- beef brisket, sautéed onions and peppers, provolone cheese and onion straws on a toasted texas toast bun.
One bite and you will quickly discover why this sandwich has been voted as one of the best sandwiches in America!
Get a side of crispy French fries and of course their always delicious corn pudding!
