Event Description:
The Saint Joseph Hospital Foundation’s successful Yes, Mamm! program provides mammography screening and diagnostics for the underinsured. This year, we are on pace to complete over 500 mammograms through the KentuckyOne Health Breast Care locations in Lexington, Kentucky (Saint Joseph East, Saint Joseph Hospital and KentuckyOne Health Imaging - Tates Creek) and at the Sandra J. Adams Digital Mammography Suite at Saint Joseph Jessamine RJ Corman Ambulatory Care Center in Nicholasville, Kentucky. The Yes, Mamm! program has been funded in part from The Susan G. Komen Lexington Affiliate, Lexus of Lexington, the Breast Cancer Education Trust Grant, Lexington Cancer Foundation, and LBX Co., Inc. along with many individual donors. Since inception our donors have SAVED LIVES funding: Over 987 Screening Mammograms 292 Diagnostic Mammograms 262 Ultrasounds 11 Biopsies $620 in Transportation Assistance The Yes, Mamm! 5K will offer additional fundraising to accommodate the demand and help supplement funds to allow for more screenings. Every dollar raised will be used for Yes, Mamm! in Lexington and Nicholasville which serves individuals in fifteen counties. We anticipate 500 runners and walkers to participate for this worthy cause. The course will be closed to the public and offers a safe and scenic opportunity for competitive runners as well as families and groups wishing to run/walk.
