During the Commerce Lexington Inc. @330 Series event presented by Manpower of Central Kentucky on Tuesday, February 9, from 3:30 - 5:00 p.m. at Commerce Lexington’s first floor conference room, Marc Whitt, Director of Philanthropy Communications in the Office of Philanthropy at the University of Kentucky and an avid LinkedIn user, will discuss the business and personal value of LinkedIn.
Marc will give a general overview of LinkedIn and its role in the world of networking, highlighting how you can take advantage of the world’s largest professional network on the Internet, with more than 400 million members in over 200 countries and territories. He will also review your LinkedIn profile, outlining what works and what doesn’t work. As of early January, Marc was ranked in the top 1% of his more than 4,100 LinkedIn connections in terms of profile views. You’ll find out why professionals are joining LinkedIn at a rate of more than two new members per second.
ABOUT THE SPEAKER: Marc C. Whitt has led a distinguished career of more than 30 years in higher education/nonprofit public relations and marketing, and has long been an active advocate for education, economic development and the performing arts. He serves as Director of Philanthropy Communications in the Office of Philanthropy at the University of Kentucky, where he is responsible for promotional messaging of UK's philanthropic programs, including campaign communications, strategic development messaging, publications, website, social media, and other external and internal communications and outreach.
